WYLDE Announces VALORANT 2023 Roster

Jan 10, 2023

2022 saw WYLDE enter the VALORANT competitive scene, securing a league position in VRL France. Competing alongside BDS, OG, and Vitality, we battled with the best France could offer. The two-stage league achieved some of the highest viewership and engagement rates and, for many, was deemed the most successful regional league in Europe. In stage one, WYLDE secured 6th place, and in stage two, which saw the addition of Karmine Corp and MAD Lions to the league, WYLDE finished 7th. Unfortunately, WYDLE did not secure one of the 10 EU franchise positions for the 2023 VALORANT Champions Tour Series, respected the talent of our players and thus released our players to seek opportunities at the higher level that we knew they were capable of playing to.

However, our commitment remains, and our ambition is to rise above through VALORANT Acension and secure a franchise position this year. WYLDE started trailing players and staff three months ago and has built an impressive roster of maturity, experience, and raw talent.

Sam Greenfield steps up as WYLDE head Coach, having previously won the VALORANT Polaris League back-to-back with Excel as the assistant coach. Sam has been instrumental in building this new roster from the ground up with a keen analytical eye. Sam identified Tyler “Foxie” Lowton as our IGL and team leader, having worked with him previously on Excel. Tyler brings a level of experience needed and a hunger to win, instilled by his Man Utd love and champion mindset. Alongside Foxie, Tautvydas “Hype” Paldavicius brings Tier 1 VCT experience playing sentinel and being the team’s anchor. Hype will play again at the highest level and intends to take this roster there. Calvin “MAGiK” Spaaij takes the smoker role and brings confidence and stability to the team, along with a keen sense of humor. After playing two seasons in the DACH German regional league and securing #2 ranking with Dsyre, MAGiK knows what he needs to do. The balance of the team sees Emirhan “Hiro” Kat and Ethan “Sevire” Starke playing duelist and flex, and both will bring unbridled confidence, talent, and personality to this roster.

WYLDE hosted a Bootcamp and media day last weekend in Amsterdam, forging this team. With game week one only one week away and featuring four matches against HEET, Mandatory, 3DMax & SBG, there is only time to grind, play and win.
