Last week marked the end of an extensive trialing and selection process to identify our new Rainbow Six academy team. The trials, which began in December 2023, initially identified only one player, Abel “Dod0o” Harangi. Abel, from a small city in Hungary, quickly demonstrated maturity and skills, so much so he featured on our Tier 1 BLAST European League team in March.
This year, WYLDE expanded our search, drawing in over 200 participants, from 21 countries, who competed across a total of 120 competitive maps. The rigorous selection process, led by Rene Bouma, identified four standout prospects to join Abel, showcasing our dedication to discovering and nurturing the next generation of esports talent.
We formally unveiled our Academy roster last week and they immediately stepped into formal competition together. The complete roster features – Abel Harangi 🇭🇺, Szilárd Fekete 🇸🇰, Evan McDonnell 🇮🇪, Kieren Harley-Pesce 🇬🇧, Alejandro Castellano 🇪🇸 and coach Aaron Kennedy 🇬🇧.
This project and a number of soon to be announced initiatives reflect our vision to create a robust and sustainable pipeline of esports professionals. We believe it is also an essential component to ensure excellence and sustainable growth in the esports community.
